One of the worse things about growing up is that among all ‘important’ things we do, we never realize when the things that mattered so much to us as a young kid become so less important. One of such things is watching cartoons. Watching a kid in your house sitting in front of that TV set and just enjoying the cartoon he loves watching so much sparks a smile to your face too. Cartoons are forever, they never go out of fashion and you’re bound to enjoy an episode even if you have watched it before.

Cartoons are full of bright colors, kids love colorful things and every little thing the character does makes them laugh. Often, cartoons become a kid’s teacher; they try to imitate the stuff their favorite character can do. 10. Choota Bheem




If you ask any kid as to which cartoon he loves the most, they will most probably answer “Choota Bheem.” Bheem is a character from Indian Mythical story names the Mahabharata and this cartoon depicts fictional life of a much younger Bheem. Bheem is known for his tremendous strength as well as being a cunning boy. He lives in Dholakpur and has his entourage that includes Pyaari Chutki, Raju, Jaggu, Dholu and Bholu. His main nemesis is Kaalia Pahelwan who goes around bullying kids but often finds himself silenced by Bheem. The show started 4 years ago but became hugely popular among kids and as a result was even made into a feature animated film. Cartoons could be a good way to teach kids something about Mahabharata.




9. Dexter





Dexter is a kid who loves Science and has a command over the subject which helps him overcome the problems he faces. He has his own laboratory which he supervises when he is at home and he carries out various experiments in there. He has a sister, Dee Dee who often troubles him while he is busy working and causes problems. His parents have no clue about him being his master wonder kid. His main rival is this other guy from school called “Mandark” who has evil plans in store for him. Dexter, with his powerful knowledge about Science and help from Dee Dee, outsmarts Mandark and wins at the end of day. Kids of the age of 8+ always dream about doing cool things like Dexter does in the lab.


8. Goku





This Japanese character was a rage among the kids when it started airing in English. Dragon Ball Z is one unique anime that involves character fight each other for the balls which has magical powers about them. Goku is the main character of the series that possesses super human powers and practices martial arts regularly so that he can get one up over his foe. Bulma meets Goku and introduces him to the legend of Dragon Balls and that starts Goku’s journey of growing up and protect the planet Earth from the bad guys. Goku is an immensely popular character and it was his introduction to the English speaking kids that bought the culture of watching Japanese and other Asian origin anime.



7. Swat Kats





‘T Bone’ and ‘Razor’ are the Swat Kats who are on a mission to fight the injustice that goes around the city mainly caused by the main criminal, Dark Kat. Swat Kats is unique and very popular among the children who lose watching cartoon that involves fighting the bad guys. T-Bone and Razor travel around in their plane called the Turbokat which is mighty powerful and fully equipped with different missiles. T-bone drives it around and Razor often executes the attack on the bad guys that are in Dark Kat’s team.


6.Fred 





''Yabadabadoooo” was one of the most satisfying things a kid could say back then. Fred from the Flintstones was everyone’s favorite character from the show. Flintstones is a show about a family from the Stone Age and their neighbors. Fred and his wife Wilma live next to Fred’s best friend, Barney Rubble and Betty Rubble. The show is about them and their adventures but in a complete different era altogether! Bedrock and dinosaurs are common this was one show that can be called as a ‘family’ show. Kids loved Fred and his energy and even after decades of it being stopped, families love to watch an episode of the Flintstones whenever there is a re-run.



5.Popeye





Popeye is a huge hit among boys as this normal guy tries to win his love Olive Oyl but only to see Bluto desperately stopping him from doing so, ever time. Popeye is a versatile guy who is good at many things such as cutting boards, building his house, has a solution to every problem! He always has a pipe which he smokes when he is in deep thoughts and has normal built compared to Bluto who is huge, but, when he is in times of trouble – he takes out his Spinach box and eats it, making him the strongest person on planet! Children love it when he wins, their mothers use Popeye as bait when they want their children to eat healthy Spinach.




4.Mickey Mouse





Mickey Mouse has to be the most famous cartoon character ever. Created by Walt Disney, he is a happy go lucky mouse who wears a red shirt, yellow shows and has huge ears and smile on his face. Mickey has a girlfriend, Minnie Mouse and couple friends, namely Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy. He also has a rival in the like of Pete. Mickey is a huge favorite among children and you will see a character dressed as him in many birthday parties and exhibitions around the world. Scooby Doo is a dog, he helps his friends, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne and Velma solve some very serious mysteries and problems they run into. They travel in a van called “Mystery Machine” and whilst Scooby and Shaggy are scared of the stuff most of the time, but, as a team they solve the mysteries against the odds and end up being heroes! 2. Bugs Bunny





“What’s up, doc?” is one of the most recognizable lines of cartoon world. Bugs Bunny immediately became a popular character from the Looney Tunes and is still a sensation among the kids. Bugs Bunny is a grey rabbit who loves eating carrots and tricking others, mainly by doing some outrageous things. Porky Pig and Daffy the duck are his friends and he’d even try and get one over them by tricking them. Bugs Bunny thinks that he can outsmart anyone who tries to trouble him and he often finds him on the winning end. Kids love the things he does and you will often find a Bugs Bunny stuffed toy in a kid’s room.




1.Tom N Jerry





Created in the 1940s, Tom and Jerry show ran for more than 60 years and never has there been a character that gets kids’ sympathy more than the character of Tom, a cat who is desperately trying to catch hold of Jerry, a mouse. Jerry almost every time outwits Tom in whatever trick he has planned to catch Jerry, but, it’s the reaction after Tom fails in his attempt to trap Jerry that cracks kids up. Tom ends up hurting himself on every failed occasion, but, this does not hamper his urge to catch Jerry and he gets up and plans his next more as soon as the previous one fails. Of course he fails in his next attempt too, but, this time in a more creative way.
