How to Update HTC Sensation XE to ICS 3.32.401.5 Android 4.0 Official Firmware

Here are all the instructions and steps that you need to perform to update your HTC Sensation XE to ICS. Please read every line carefully below. We suggest, you read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your phone.

To Remember:

• This tutorial is only for HTC Sensation XE. Please don’t try this on any other variants of the phone.
• Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding.
• HTC Sensation XE should have stock recovery. ClockworkMod Recovery is NOT supported.
• Bootloader should be unlocked. How? –> How to Unlock Bootloader of HTC Phones.
• You have to gain S-OFF for this tutorial.

If you have fulfilled all the requirements above, then proceed to the actual tutorial.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1 - Download Android 4.0 3.32.401.5 OTA 

(OTA_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.105-1.73.401.4_P_release_246589q3t6rh79ci68p68k.zip) for HTC Sensation XE to your computer. Do not rename the file.

Step 2 - Connect and mount your HTC Sensation XE USB (mass) memory on your computer using the USB cable.

Step 3 - Now copy/paste the OTA_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.105-1.73.401.4_P_release_246589q3t6rh79ci68p68k.zip zip file to your SD card. Make sure the file is in the SD card root.

Step 4 - Then turn off your phone.

Step 5 - Now to get in the HBOOT mode. Turn on the phone while pressing and holding the Volume Down + Power buttons.

Step 6 - Select Recovery from the HBOOT menu to get into the Recovery Mode.

Step 7 - As soon as you see the red exclamation mark on the screen, you now need to hold the Volume Up and the Power buttons together.

Step 8 - The screen will say “Can’t open cache/recovery/command” and then bring up the Recovery menu.

Step 9 - Now using your volume keys, go to “apply update from SD Card” and press the Power button to select it.

Step 10 - Then navigate to the ROM zip file and select it using the Power button. Installation should begin now.

Your phone will restart after the installation is over. Now your HTC Sensation XE should have the latest Android 4.0 ICS update installed.
