Nokia Launches First Android-Powered In India

Nokia launches first Android-powered smartphone in India for 8,599


 
Nokia has finally launched its much talked about Android smartphone, the Nokia X, for Rs.8,599 in India. The Nokia X series of smartphones was first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress last month with much fanfare.

In fact, Nokia X series of low-cost Android phones took away the limelight from the Samsung's much hyped flagship Galaxy S5 at the MWC 2014.

India is a key market for the Finnish handset maker and bringing the Nokia X within two weeks after its global unveiling means Nokia has India on priority.

Nokia X is a basic model from its Android family. Others are the Nokia X+ and the Nokia XL. For now, only Nokia X has been launched, the X+ and XL will come in next two months. Nokia X is the first Android phone from the Finnish handset maker. And with this affordable Android phone, Nokia aims to recapture the Indian market.

On specifications front, all three devices are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Dual Core processor and are dual SIM. Popular apps like BBM, Plants vs. Zombies 2, Viber, Vine and Twitter come pre-installed.

The Nokia X comes with 4-inch IPS LCD screen, 512MB RAM and a 3-megapixel rear camera. The dual-SIM Nokia X comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS A-GPS, EDGE, GPRS and 3G options. Its 1500mAh battery can give up to 13 hours of talk time and 672 hours of standby on 2G network, as the company claimed.
