9 TIMES NAWAZUDDIN SIDDIQUI WENT UNNOTICED

Today every Indian cinema lover knows Nawazuddin Siddiqui for his superb talent but in early 90’s he was a struggling actor. He faced a lot of struggle and hardships during his initial days in Mumbai. He started his career by playing roles as short as 40-second. You will be surprised to know that he was a part of super hit movies like Sarfarosh, Shool and many more. Didn’t notice right?

Nawazuddin once said, “I have seen it all in the industry. There were days when I wanted to quit but did not know anything other than acting so I stayed. The struggle was long but there were good people around me like Aamir and Anurag, who believed in me and told me to stick around.”

Here we bring to you a list of movies where Nawazuddin played small roles and went unnoticed by us :


1. Nawazuddin made his Bollywood debut with a small role in Sarfarosh opposite Aamir Khan. He appeared as criminal who is arrested through victoria house raid.





2. In 1999, he was seen in ‘Shool’, produced by Ram Gopal Verma opposite Manoj Bajpai. He appeared as a waiter in the movie in which he went unnoticed.





3. Nawazuddin was next seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. in which he played a role of Pocket Picker.





4. In 2007, Nawazuddin appeared in Madhuri Dixit’s Aaja Nachle in which he played as one of her servant.





5. After ‘Aaja Nachle’, Nawazuddin was seen in Ek Chalis Ki Last Local opposite Abhay Deol and Neha Dupia as a Ponnappa’s Brother (Charasi in Bar)





6. Manorama Six Feet Under is a thriller film starring Abhay Deol, Raima Sen and Gul Panag in the lead roles. Nawazuddin appeared as a Local Goon in the movie who flaunts flashy shades in the desert.





7. In 2009, he was seen in New York who was tortured by FBI in New York after 9/11 attacks. Though it went unnoticed but his 2 minute scene was sufficient to give us a lump in the throat.





8. Nawazuddin next appeared in Anurag Kashyap’s crime film ‘Black Friday’ which is the true story of the Bombay Bomb Blasts. He played a role of Asgar Mukadam who was involved in the bomb blast.





9. In 2009, Nawazuddin appeared in a cameo role as a Band singer in hit song “Emotional Attyachar” in the movie Dev D.
