Indian handset maker Micromax had recently partnered with Microsoft for the release of Windows Phone devices, at the Mobile World Congress 2014. Now, Micromax had confirmed that the company is working again with Microsoft to develop a new smartphone. The two giants are likely to make an official announcement soon.

According to a TOI report, Vikas Jain, co-founder of Micromax said that it is working towards launching Windows Phone-based devices in the Indian market. Earlier, software giant Microsoft had announced that the company slashed the license fee completely, for Windows Phone for at least Indian phone makers, Lava and Karbonn. There was no mention of Micromax, but as Jain confirms, there is more to look forward from Microsoft.

Meanwhile, both Karbonn and Lava will be launching their Windows Phone devices, within a price range of Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,000 in the coming months. Reportedly, Microsoft and Google have been dissuading smart device-makers to stall plans and production of dual-OS devices. Contrary to that, Micromax will be launching the dual-OS LapTab hybrid with Android and Windows, by next month.

The new LapTab will come with a 25.6-cm (10.1-inch) screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800pixels, with a keyboard cover. It will run on a 1.46 GHz dual-core Intel N2805 processor, with 2GB RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage.
