Samsung Unveils Galaxy Tab4 Lineup

With the Galaxy S5 smartphone launch out of the way, Samsung is focusing on its new lineup of tablets, which will debut May 1.

Available Thursday for pre-order, the Galaxy Tab4 series comes in 10.1-inch (pictured), 8-inch, and 7-inch screen sizes.
"This latest addition to Samsung's Galaxy Tab family combines versatility with value," Michael Abary, senior vice president of mobile computing, said in a statement.
The Wi-Fi-enabled Galaxy Tab4 will hit major retailers next Thursday, with a price tag of $199.99 (7-inch), $269.99 (8-inch), and $349.99 (10.1-inch). Pre-sales start tomorrow via Samsung.com, Amazon, Best Buy, Fry's Office Depot, OfficeMax, PC Richard and Son, Sears, and Tiger Direct.
The four major U.S. mobile carriers will begin selling an LTE version of the tablet this summer.
All three Tab4 models sport a WXGA display with a 16-by-10 ratio—ideal for watching movies, playing games, or reading digital content. And with the Multi Window function, users can seamlessly move between apps and windows, and drag and drop content to better fit the screen.
The Tab4 line comes with features like Group Play for sharing music, documents, and games in real time, WatchON and Netflix for watching TV shows and movies on any device, and Samsung Link, which allows content to play across smart gadgets.
Samsung's Galaxy Perks also opens access to apps like Google Play, Dropbox, Sirius XM, and Audible.
Not all services will be provided; availability depends on device type and regions.
"The HD display, multitasking capabilities and easy sharing features make the Galaxy Tab4 a great fit for both consumers and businesses," Abary said.
Despite their varying sizes, the 10.1-inch and 8-inch tablets both run a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and feature a 1,280-by-800 display, a 3-megapixel front-facing camera, and 1.3-megapixel rear cam, as well as 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD slot for up to 64GB of additional space.
The larger of the two, however, sports a 6,800mAh battery, while the middle child comes with a 4,450mAh battery.
If you're looking for an on-the-go device, the 7-inch Galaxy Tab4 may be your best best, with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 3-megapixel front and 1.3-megapixel rear cameras, 1.5GB of RAM, and two microSD options, for expandable storage up to 32GB on 3G/Wi-Fi or 64GB on LTE.
All three devices come in black or white, with Wi-Fi/3G and LTE options, and run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
