Samsung Galaxy S4 is currently the official high end phone from the company (until the Note 3 comes out). The reason why it is so cool is also the reason why some people hate it : it has many versions : Galaxy S4 (standard), Galaxy S4 Active (waterproof), Galaxy S4 Zoom (camera-like smartphone, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Camera) and in some other countries there is even a Galaxy S4 dual sim.

We will talk here just about the standard version, which seems to be one of the most beautiful phones out there. What makes the phone so special? Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 in India Tomorrow[24th Dec]

While the Galaxy Grand was very popular in the Indian markets due to its pricing, the company is all set to release the second edition of the device which was launched less than a month ago.


Samsung is supposed to launch the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 in India tomorrow, December 23. While the pricing of the device is not yet known, we are hoping for a sub-20K pricing so that, like its predecessor, it too would be very popular in the mid-range smartphone segment.

And with the refreshed specs, the device would definitely attract customers if priced reasonably. 

The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 maintains the same design as the earlier version but has a slightly bigger display measuring 5.25 inch with 720p resolution. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor with a 1.5 GB of RAM and
8 GB of internal storage, which can be further extended up to 64 GB.

The smartphone is equipped with an 8 MP rear facing auto focus camera with LED flash.

Samsung Galaxy S5 spotted

Samsung Galaxy S5 spotted on AnTuTu benchmarks

Samsung Galaxy S4 successor Galaxy S5 has made its appearnce on AnTuTu benchmarks. 

AnTuTu team claims that it has spotted Samsung's SM-G900F device, said to be the Samsung's next-generation flagship smartphone S5. 

The device that showed up on the benchmark results is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip and 3GB of RAM.

The Krait processor part of the chip has been clocked at 2.5GHz. 

The phone was detected as having 1080p display, though it's possible that Samsung has locked the resolution to that particular resolution (The Galaxy S5 is said to sport a 2K display). The device runs Android 4.4 KitKat and sports a 16MP camera. 

Meanwhile, after several rumours and leaks, it now looks almost certain that the first Tizen smartphone will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February at Barcelona. 

Samsung and Intel, the two companies backing the development of the much awaited mobile operating system, have sent invites to the press for an event in February, scheduled to take place a day before the MWC officially commences.

The invite doesn't categorically mention the name or type of the device that will be unveiled but it states that Samsung's devices running the Tizen OS will be showcased. As per the invite, the event will offer ''an exclusive sneak preview of the newest Tizen devices as well as an opportunity to learn about the major milestones that the Tizen project has hit since last year's event,'' as noted by IT News.
The report also quotes analyst Geoff Blaber of CCS Insight saying that Samsung has to show commercial devices at MWC. This would strengthen Samsung's mobile foundation, and give a backup for its smartphone business in case Android takes a turn for the worse. 

In addition to the invite, some new screenshots of the Tizen user interface too have appeared on the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service database, as spotted by Sam Mobile. Interestingly, the UI looks different than what we've seen in the past.

Samsung has announced yet another handset in its Galaxy range of smartphones aimed at buyers on a budget.
The Galaxy Core Advance is a marginally improved version of the Galaxy Core, which the Korean firm launched in June, and the Galaxy Core Plus that launched in Taiwan in October.
It has the same 8GB basic storage as the Core, as well as the same camera, but comes with a slightly larger 4.7-inch screen.

However, based on its specifications and the prices of the Core in the UK, the Core Advance is expected to retail at between £150 and £170.
By comparison, the high-end Samsung Galaxy S4 costs around £350.
The Core Advance will also need to stay around this price point to rival the £135 Moto G unveiled last month.
Samsung's Galaxy Core Advance weighs 145g - the original Core is 124g - and has a 2,000 mAh battery, compared to the Core's 1,800 mAH.

The Core Advance does have two extra physical keys on the front of the device for ‘users who are less comfortable with a touchscreen experience’, according to Samsung’s official release.
Elsewhere, it comes with a range of built-in apps and features including S Translator, Sound and Shot, which lets users add sounds to photos, and Group Play, that lets users stream music across multiple devices. 

The Core Advance will be available in Deep Blue and Pearl White.
By comparison, the Moto G screen has 4.5-inch display and comes in 8GB and 16GB models.
It has a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 1.3MP camera on the front of the device. The handset is available in seven different colours, including red, pink, yellow and blue, and the colourful cases are interchangeable.
