10 JOBS WHICH DO NOT NEED COLLEGE DEGREE

The only purpose of a fancy degree is merely to prove your materialistic status in the society. It is a ticket towards gaining your desired soul-mate and the deserved respect in the society. Honestly, dedication, passion and faith in yourself can help you reach places a degree won’t. There are numerous jobs which can be pursued without a formal college degree. Right from photography to marketing to being on TV covering news, passion can drive you towards success without a piece of paper highlight FIRST CLASS. Ambition and dedication is everything which is a gateway to success. The list below shows some jobs/career options which can be achieved without a degree.

10. Photography

In today’s times, everyone with a DSLR mistakes himself/herself to be a photographer. This is the most flawed notion and simply a DSLR cannot associate you with good photography. Though there are photography courses, I feel what all you need for good photography is good vision, an understanding of what kind of pictures you need. A degree is not necessarily of any importance in a field where creativity is the indispensable element. Clicking pictures is not merely random shutter sounds, it’s an art. Though on Facebook people have their XYZ photography pages, that does not qualify them as professional photographers. The problem with these facebook fan pages is it is hard to distinguish real and reel photographer and that every person be it genuine is judged by prejudice.

9. Film making

Conceptualizing a film requires neat understanding of how the story, screenplay, direction concepts and star cast are going to be metamorphosed into a beautiful 3 hour journey. Though a professional degree ensures you a better position as a filmmaker, if you have the right belief and resources allotted for your ideas, a degree is absolutely unessential. In one of the most creativity demanding fields, with a little guidance and self-experience, one can sure leave behind his footprints in the movie world. If you aim of becoming the next Anurag Kashyap then work towards your passion. You need to have tremendous patience to sustain in the film world. Without a Godfather, it can be difficult to survive but if you are headed in the right direction, nothing will stop you and the box office to connect

8. Advertising

Advertising is an extremely fascinating career option if you have the talent it takes to survive in the creative world. The commercial advertisements which enthrall us also have a degree. Yes! The very same minute commercials which need to convey their purpose concisely have a formal qualification. Advertising is all about knowing your product and smartly contriving a concept to promote it to the desired target audience. Be it ads or short films, usually the purpose is marketing an idea in limited time. The key to this is your ability to make your ideas compact. Frankly does not require a degree to show off! Show off your work concisely.

7. Counseling

A counselor is one who removes your watch and tells you the time. This being a smart witty quote, is basically marketing how much you care about client and providing solutions which could in all respects, ease his difficulties. Counseling mainly requires you to be a keen listener. There is difference between hearing and listening. A professional counselor be officially “qualified” through a degree can provide you the best of solutions with respect to career choices, relationship problems, coping with stress etc. You need good communication skills to connect with your client, to comprehend his/her difficulties and not a piece of paper to show how qualified you are.

6. Professional coaching

Teaching is considered as a noble profession. The way education is commercialized is surely the outcome of a diabolical mind. A teacher is qualified with the B.Ed degree but still we notice not all have the knack to teach. Teaching is an art which a degree cannot merely provide you. Experience with good expressing skills actually qualifies for a good professor. A teacher must be not only to address his/her pupils’ doubts but must strike an amicable atmosphere for healthy learning. No degree can provide this. The person should be qualified with soft skills and not merely a piece of paper.

5. Chef

Bon Appetit! My personal favorite! A chef has to undergo rigorous formal training via a Hotel Management course. Are all of the Master Chef contestants professionals? Certainly Not! Well, it is not that everyone can cook well without official experience. But certainly a degree for dishing sumptuous delicacies seems preposterous. A chef must be able to play with his ingredients to churn out new recipes. Innovation with an understanding of how amalgamation of foodstuff will turn out is a Chef’s chef-d’oeuvre. Definitely one with a passion and a larger than life love for food should consider pursuing being a chef.

4. Acting

Acting in India is a dream for millions. We are aware of the fact how people flock to studios for auditions. Many get rejected and lose faith in their dreams and some succeed. It is true that acting is not a cakewalk and that it takes a hell lot of time to establish yourself as an actor unless you have some one to guide you in the industry. In spite of these odds, you love emoting and making people connecting with your reel character? Opt for the wish of a million, to make it big in the acting world. Acting does require experience and workshops to be followed, but not a formal degree. It is sort of an inbuilt niche of a person to express himself/herself. Just he needs to polish this inner inbuilt niche and channelize it to fulfill his/her dreams. However there are many factors that could acts as deterrents If you are thinking of making it BIG without a godfather and a formal training.

3. Journalist

Technically a journalist is one who researches on current content and mainly presents reports. An official degree is present for a journalism course which is Bachelor of Mass Media(BMM). A journalist who appeals to the masses is a dynamic power-packed and a well communicated person. He/She must have the ability to connect to their target audience. Keeping this in mind, one has to develop their soft skills like good communication techniques and a journo must have an exemplary oratory. Like for instance, media person Arnab Goswami has the niche to keep his viewers hooked to his NEWSHOUR. What all you need is not a college degree for a reporter but self-developed skill to feature on TV covering news.

2. Marketing

Selling shit is art. Marketing is all about convincing people to buy your shit however bad it is. Totally an abstract job, no book in the whole big fat wide world can teach you abstract soft skills. The world concept of marketing lies in selling your idea. Marketing is probably the ONLY profession which requires nothing but experience coupled with exceptional communication techniques and no formal training at all. It is one of the very fascinating jobs to make people believe in your ideas. Totally an abstract and a fantastic career option, a passionate person with an ability to efficaciously convey his thoughts must opt for it. Marketing nowadays is not only restricted to meeting people and negotiating, every company needs a Digital Media Manager. This person is mainly responsible for the company’s facebook page or promoting the new updates and commercial advancements of the firm. The internet is a web of connectivity and through digital media, it has become a way to feasibly promote your product and reach to a large base of audience.

1. Politics

It is basically country engineering. Strangely this does not require any formal degree and also even if you wish to enter this profession with a selfless approach, you need to win trust via your actions not a degree. Politics is one of the most lucrative professions earning you trust, respect and a buttload of money if you do it all right for the welfare of your crowd. Topping the list, politics is one of the most sought after choices as it offers you a lot at a less educational price. Yet, the struggle to win people’s heart could be excruciating. Politics will continue to set its requirements as communication techniques, relating to your voters’ needs and keeping a fact fixed in heads that you are because of the people who serve. Politics is one of the noblest profession gone horribly wrong and judged wrongly. If done right, this gives the best outcomes.

REASONS WHY DESKTOP IS BETTER THAN LAPTOP

We are in the 21st century which is also regarded as the Digital Era. We live in a world where our lives are completely intertwined with the development of technology. Today’s scenario is such that a day without a computer is like a year without rain! Computers that were used only for computing purposes have now become the prime unit of the working world. Starting from the size a large room, the computers have evolved into smaller desktop PCs, laptops, notebooks and now, the tablets. The processor speed, size, memory capacity, everything has been developed with each of the generation of computers.

People go gaga when it comes to high end machines and gadgets which are slick and user friendly. But to what extent are they ready to compromise on their performance? Even though the computers are becoming more compact and stylish, the desktop PCs that are considered as bulky and huge are preferred more by most people than those ultra slim laptops. You may wonder why! Here is the list of reasons why a desktop PC is always better than a laptop.

10. Safe and Secure

.
The desktop PCs are bulky when compared to a laptop. Is this factor actually a blessing in disguise? Of course it is. Anybody can sneak your laptop inside a bag or hide it among the books and take it away smoothly without your knowledge. It is quite easy to steal them. Then, what about a Desktop computer? Obviously they cannot be stolen that effortlessly because they are bulky! So, desktop PCs are far more secure, and you need not worry about protecting the amount of money you invested from being deliberately stolen away

9. Cost

Next is the cost factor. Who does not love gadgets that are latest in technology and best in quality available at a cheaper price? Everybody wants to save money. But the thinner and cozier the gadget gets, the higher the price you pay! Laptop has a keyboard, monitor screen, processor, all the memory and hard disks and everything embedded into a single compact unit. This makes use of special and high end technology which eventually reflects in its price. If you already have a monitor or keyboard, you may buy a desktop computer with other peripherals and save a lot of money. This is not possible if you buy a laptop. You have to buy the complete set on the whole. Thus you can buy a Desktop PC in a relatively lesser cost than a laptop.

8. Rugged

There’s a many a slip twixt the cup and the lip! the laptop may slip through fingers or bag and fall down, but what about a desktop? A laptop is more prone to breaking into pieces when dropped down. In general they are fragile and needs more cautiousness while handling them. If broken, the entire laptop has to be sent for repair. If any one of the components of the laptop is faulty, say, the keyboard is faulty, then you have to send the whole laptop for service. Sometimes due to a single component’s failure, you may even have to replace the entire product! Whereas in a desktop PC, only the faulty one, say, a keyboard or the mouse needs to be replaced. This reduces the repair expenses to a great extent.

7. Ethernet and Peripherals

We do not use a computer just for storing data. We all listen to music, play games, watch videos, use a web cam for video conferencing, do many more and what not! Do you think you can add a USB connected mouse, keyboard, a webcam, headset and a pen drive all at once to your laptop? Obviously not! But you can add tons of external peripherals to your desktop PC. Laptops in general have a couple of USB 2.0 ports and sometimes a high end laptop would have a USB 3.0. But a desktop comes with a minimum of four USB ports or even more. Some desktop PC’s come with multiple Ethernet ports which enhance the speed of your internet connectivity!

6. Power Supply

Every electronic product requires its fuel – ” the power supply”.Laptops run on batteries. If the battery runs out of charge, the laptop dies down as well. Moreover, the laptop batteries can be charged and discharged only up to a certain specified limited number of cycles depending on the manufacturer, after which the battery needs to be replaced with a new one. While a desktop PC makes use of a constant power supply as the power source instead of a battery. It is always connected to it. You may also use a UPS. So you don’t have to worry about your PC running out of power.

5. Large and Multiple display

A desktop computer comes with a wide range of display screen sizes available at the market. A laptop too provides a maximum size of 17.3 inches, but it is in no way greater when compared to a 20 -24 inch desktop monitor display. Moreover, a laptop with 17.3 inch display will obviously look quite bulky that it would no longer look like a laptop. It would be like you are carrying your desktop PC in your hand all the way! Apart from this, a Desktop PC can add multiple display monitors depending on the number of graphic cards that your computer can support while your laptops don’t. You may also try the same on your laptop using a USB powered display, but it would never be as great as multiple displays on a desktop computer.

4. Gaming and Graphics

Most of the gadget crazy people love to play games and work with graphics related content and software on their systems. To have better effects, you need to attach something called the graphic cards on to your computer’s motherboard. The greater the number of graphic cards, the better is the quality of visual effects. Laptops cannot support more than one or two graphic cards; some may not even have a provision for adding them! In such cases playing a game on laptops will only remain a long lost dream. Whereas a desktop computer can be modified depending on your needs and add any number of graphic cards and enjoy the games and graphics with the best quality effects.

3. Performance

In general, any electronic device gets heated up due to the processes that take place inside their internal components. These need to be cooled either with the help of an air cooling or liquid cooling system to keep them from burning out. The laptop’s motherboard on which all of the components are mounted is enclosed in a smaller framework with lesser number of fans for cooling. This leads to over heating when a large number tasks or heavy load is applied to the processor. This limitation is overcome by the desktop computer’s larger framework and cooling system with more number of fans for air cooling. Some desktop PCs even make use of liquid cooling systems to keep their temperature down. This makes them more durable than a laptop.

2. Processor

Laptop processors are comparatively smaller than the Desktop computer processors, as we already know, it is because of the compact nature of the laptop. Apart from this, the laptop processors have to confront the limitation on “power supply”. As these run on batteries their processors are designed to use less energy and safeguard the battery’s life which ultimately slows down the processor’s speed. Whereas, in case of a desktop, there is no limitation on space for the motherboard as well as on the power supply. The desktop PCs can also be over-clocked to run at higher speeds!

1. Easy to upgrade

Increasing the size of your RAM or adding new PCI cards and IDE disks requires a larger motherboard and more number of slots for expansion. In a desktop PC, it is very easy as the size of the motherboard doesn’t matter much. In a laptop, the motherboard is fitted in to fixed framework or chassis. Thus it limits the size of the motherboard as the laptops need to be smaller and thinner which leads to the limiting of space to fit in new memory drives in them.

10 Best Mafia Movies Of Hollywood

10 **A Prophet**

This film was originally made in French and opened to widespread critical acclaim from critics all around the world and a 97% aggregate on Rotten Tomatoes. It is about a prisoner of Algerian descent in a jail, who rises to the top in the inmate hierarchy as he tides through the Muslim and Corsican factions there. The film is the perfect blend of fine performances and gritty gangster acts. The two criminal subcultures in the prison and their manifestations give this film a typical Mafia appeal. The film was nominated for the Best Film in the Foreign Category at 82ndAcademy Awards and is frequently counted amongst the best pictures of all time. I would strongly recommend to this everyone.

**The Usual Suspects**

This picture was released falteringly after it was shown out of competition at 1995 Cannes Film Awards. It generated very fervid reviews and was eventually given a wider release. In San Pedro Bay, a ship is set ablaze, and the FBI tries to investigate what happened on the boat. The film tracks the story of Roger Kint, who is one of the only two survivors in the ship. He tells the police a perplexing tale of his mafia boss and how he and his accomplices came to the boat. The story ends with a twist in the tale. The film won two major Academy Awards and was acknowledged as the tenth best mystery film by the American Film Institute.

**The Untouchables**

Based on David Mamets book of the same name,The Untouchableshas Robert De Niro and Kevin Costner in the lead roles. De Niro plays the famous American gang-leader, Al Capone, of the Prohibition era. The screen play is autobiographical and shows how Costner (Government officer, Eliot Ness) and his team, Untouchables, managed to pin down the gang-leader. The film does not have a single dry moment (pun intended) and is a thorough entertainer. The picture was nominated for four Academy Awards, winning one of them, and was a big Box Office success.

**Casino**

Casino is another typical De Niro film, also starring Sharon Stone. It is based on Nicholas Pileggis book of the same name. Rober De Niro, who plays a handicapper in the film, is called by the Mob to look over the affairs of their Tangiers Casino. He doubles the profits of the casino and another Mob enforcer, Nicky Santaro is sent over to make sure that things continue to be fine. As the film progresses, the twists and turns become intense. If you like gory movies with excessive violence, you cannot afford to miss this one. Sharon Stone received an Academy Award for her performance as Ginger, De Niros alcoholic and adulterous wife.

**American Gangster**

This 2007 film also follows a biographical approach to present the story of Frank Lucas, a gangster who smuggled heroin into the States through the planes coming in from the Vietnam War. It shows the classic America of the 1970s.The film stars Russell Crowe in the lead, he plays detective Richie Roberts who nabs the gangster. It is based on a book entitled, The Return of a Superfly by Mark Jacobson. Both, Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington give immense depth to their characters, enhancing the impact of the picture. The film was received well by critics and the audience alike and was nominated for two Academy Awards.

**The Departed**

There is barely anyone who has not seen this film. The film is directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon. The film is set in Boston where the Irish Mob plants a spy in the State Police. At the same time, the Police force sends an undercover cop to infiltrate the mafia¡¯s crew. The track follows as both sides discover that there is a mole within their respective organizations. This film will keep you on the edge of your seat with its brilliant storyline and power-packed performances. The picture won four Academy Awards and considered the Best film of 2006 by many critics.

**Scarface**

Scarface is a 1983 cult film directed by Brian De Palma, starring Al Pacino. It traces the story of a Cuban refugee who comes to Miami and becomes a drug cartel boss during the time of the cocaine boom in the 1980s. The film initially received a lukewarm response from the critics and was also rated for its excessively violent content. However, it is now considered one of the best films ever made under the Mob film genre.

**Goodfellas**

Martin Scorsese all three films on organised crime made it to this top-ten list. His Goodfellas is the screen adaptation of Nicholas Pileggi¡¯s Wiseguy. The film is about the Lucchese Crime Family and how Henry Hill and his friends move up the mob hierarchy. It stars Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci in the leads. Joe Pesci won an Academy Award for Best Actor in a supporting role and the film received five other nominations. Goodfellas is considered one of the greatest films ever made by many film critics.

**Pulp Fiction**

This is one of those films that leave you wondering after you have finished watching them. Due to its unconventionality, you may not even understand it fully at the first watch, if so, see it again. Directed by Quentin Tarantino, the film is about interconnected storylines all working at different levels, centred on the Mob. It has brilliant dialogues, a fine mix of humour and violence and pop culture references. Also, the brilliant performances by John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Samuel Jackson are just out of this world. It is one of most unique films ever made and is considered the herald of postmodern cinema. The film was nominated for seven Oscars and is considered one of the greatest films of all time.

**The Godfather: Parts 1 and 2**

It is a matter of no surprise that this film gets the first position. The film is the Mafia, in the original sense of the word, which is the Sicilian organised crime. The Godfather is a brilliant piece of art in every aspect of filmmaking. Based on the book of the same name by Mario Puzo, the film shows the reign of the Mafia leader, Vito Corleone (played by Marlon Brando) and the circumstances leading to Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), taking the chair of the Mafia. The film is considered the Second Greatest Film in World Cinema and is one of the highest grosser of all time. The film went on to win three Oscars- for Best Actor, Best Picture and the Best Adapted Screenplay.
It is not easy to decide whether the first or the second part is better. I personally favour the second part. The film is both a sequel and a prequel to The Godfather, presenting two parallel dramas. The sequel is about Michael Corleone keeping up the family business as the new Don,and the prequel follows the story of Vito Corleones younger days and the founding of the Mafia family. The film was nominated for eleven Academy Awards and won six of them. This film, like its predecessor, was a gargantuan success at the box office and is considered one of the greatest films ever made. It was followed by a sequel, Godfather: Part 3, which released in 1990.

Microsoft Launches Guardian, New Safety App for Windows Phone Users

Microsoft India today announced the launch of Guardian, a new safety application (app), available exclusively for Windows Phone users.
Guardian Safety App for Windows Phone
Guardian enables users to switch on a ‘track me’ feature in the app that lets friends and family track them in real time using Microsoft Windows Azure cloud services and Bing Map APIs.
Guardian App users can call for help through an ‘SOS’ alert button and also connect to security agencies, police and hospitals easily via this app in times of distress. Guardian was developed over six months by a group of enthusiastic Microsoft employees in India, within the Microsoft Garage. Microsoft Garage is a global employee innovation initiative that gives Microsoft employees an outlet to explore ideas.
To use Guardian effectively, users need to add the names of friends, family members and security groups to the settings. In an emergency situation, the app can be used to alert them, via the SOS button. All the user has to do is tap the SOS button. The phone then sends a distress SMS to all buddy mobiles, notifying them of the emergency along with location details.
At the same time the SOS button also sends emails to buddy email IDs and posts to private Facebook groups, if registered. Guardian uses Microsoft Windows Azure cloud services and Bing Map APIs extensively and can help securities authorities and medical teams track the user. The phone can be traced even if it is broken. The application is capable of one touch video recording that may be used later as evidence.
The Guardian app is available exclusively for Windows Phone users. It can be downloaded at Guardian-New Safety App for Windows Phone Users

TRAI Classifies Minimum Broadband Speed As 512kbps

India’s telecom regulator TRAI issued an guideline, making it mandatory for every Broadband service provider ( Wireline – ISPs) to offer minimum download speed 512 Kbps as “broadband’ and reports the number of broadband subscribers in accordance with the revised definition i.e. greater than 512 Kbps.

Earlier The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) issued a Notification on revising the definition of Broadband as ‘Broadband is a data / Internet connection that is able to support interactive services including Internet access and has the capability of the minimum download speed of 512 Kbps to an individual subscriber from the point of presence (PoP) of the service provider intending to provide broadband service.
Accordingly TRAI’s monthly telecom subscribers report, the minimum download speed has been increased from 256 Kbps to 512 Kbps for all wireline ‘Broadband services.
As per TRAI’s latest data India has 14.91 Million Wire-line Broadband subscribers with minimum downloading speed of 512Kbps. However, it may be scent that increase in the minimum download speed from 256 Kbps to 512 Kbps has not hugely impacted the overall number of wire-line broadband subscribers.
In India there are 153 Service Providers (ISPs) which are providing Wireline Broadband services. Out of these, 105 SPs (which constitute 98.71% of the market share) have submitted broadband subscription data for the month of October 2013 as per revised definition of broadband. For the rest of the ISPs, data from previous month (with pre-revised definition) has been retained.
Top five ISPs / Broadband service providers in terms of market share (based on subscriber base) are BSNL (9.96 million)Bharti Airtel (1.32 million), MTNL (1.11 million)Hathway Cable (0.37 million) and Beam Telecom (0.34 million).
It is significant to mention that India’s 3rd largest Broadband service provider Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) which is operating just in 2 circles – Mumbai and Delhi already moved to minimum 1Mbps and more downloading speed over its broadband services in Mumbai circle
In July, 2009, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recommended that the Department of Telecom (DoT) should make it mandatory for Broadband speeds to be at least 2 mbps, but still its not done.
